Fall Meeting - September 15, 2007

Brief Meeting Summary: Amy Zook, long time OPA member and nationally recognized poet, presented an outstanding workshop on the Glosa Form. Amy led members through a process to create their own glosa form. One member, Bob Birch, enjoyed the form so much that later in the month he created a chapbook of his glosa poems.

Key business included the following:

  1. tabling the Ohio Poet Laureate Project due to capacity issues;
  2. authorizing President Casey to form a committee to study the creation of a youth poetry project that goes beyond the annual youth poetry contest;
  3. sponsoring an OPA contest as part of Ohio Poetry Day,
  4. announcing the need to form a nominations committee for officers.

Open readings followed the business meeting.
